Summary

Out with the old and in with the new! Family physician Dr。 Todd Spector presents a fresh and outrageously fun way to encourage little girls to give up their diapers。 They can try it fresh-air style (in the backyard!), or use the potty with the help of a few props and plenty of imagination。 Peeing in the potty is a lot more fun if you do it princess style, dance-party style, or gymnast style!
Inspired by Dr。 Spector's own experiences potty training his children, this combination of laugh-out-loud scenarios and useful advice turns the dreaded potty-training process into an exciting adventure for all。

The copping a squat in the bushes scene was pretty funny, but as a potty training parent this only had my toddler asking if she can pee in my plant lmao Still a cute read。

This picture book shows a variety of "girly" ways to use the potty, from princess style, witch style, royal ball style, ballerina etc… Kids who are potty training might find this amusing。 The book was written by a family practice physician and includes tips for parents who are potty training their kids at the end of the book。I like the illustrations。 (Note: there is no "story" and the girl character in the book already knows how to use the potty, unlike in some other potty training books。) This picture book shows a variety of "girly" ways to use the potty, from princess style, witch style, royal ball style, ballerina etc… Kids who are potty training might find this amusing。 The book was written by a family practice physician and includes tips for parents who are potty training their kids at the end of the book。I like the illustrations。 (Note: there is no "story" and the girl character in the book already knows how to use the potty, unlike in some other potty training books。) 。。。more

I didn't like the "boy" version of this book so I had low expectations but this one is even worse。 Just like the other book, this book is not at all about how to actually recognize the need to pee and starting to use the toilet; this book is about making a fun game out of peeing。 While the boys get to learn how to pee like a firefighter or an astronaut, the girls literally don't get any career-based ideas except maybe gymnastics。 Girls get to learn how to pee "royal ball style" and "princess sty I didn't like the "boy" version of this book so I had low expectations but this one is even worse。 Just like the other book, this book is not at all about how to actually recognize the need to pee and starting to use the toilet; this book is about making a fun game out of peeing。 While the boys get to learn how to pee like a firefighter or an astronaut, the girls literally don't get any career-based ideas except maybe gymnastics。 Girls get to learn how to pee "royal ball style" and "princess style" and "fairy style" and "tea party style" and "ballerina style" which I found infuriating because they were all so similar and does not explore how varied little girls' interests can be。 There are little girls who love trucks and getting dirty! There are little boys who want to be a ballerina。 Early exposure to gender roles and career prospects have a profound impact on young children。 We can do better than this。 。。。more

A summer camp begged me to read this to them。 They thought it was hilarious。A little girl talks about all the different ways to pee (princess, fairy, gymnast。。。) Might encourage some girls that are reluctant to use the potty。Children's rating 4, mine more of a 3 so maybe a 3。5 A summer camp begged me to read this to them。 They thought it was hilarious。A little girl talks about all the different ways to pee (princess, fairy, gymnast。。。) Might encourage some girls that are reluctant to use the potty。Children's rating 4, mine more of a 3 so maybe a 3。5 。。。more

Since I trashed the How To Pee: Potty Training for Boys, I was waiting to see if the author/doctor would write one for girls。 Well, he did。 It's not as bad as the boys book and actually has some good advice。 I guess since it's harder for girls to go outside and pee like boys there aren't many outside styles for the girls。It is pretty sexist though。 Even the books are sexist; pink for girls and blue for boys。 Not every girl wants to be a princess or have tea parties, or be a ballerina。 Some girls Since I trashed the How To Pee: Potty Training for Boys, I was waiting to see if the author/doctor would write one for girls。 Well, he did。 It's not as bad as the boys book and actually has some good advice。 I guess since it's harder for girls to go outside and pee like boys there aren't many outside styles for the girls。It is pretty sexist though。 Even the books are sexist; pink for girls and blue for boys。 Not every girl wants to be a princess or have tea parties, or be a ballerina。 Some girls want to be astronauts, or Jedi。 There are a couple of outside styles, which I think is bad for both girls and boys to go outside and pee。 A lot of neighbors may not like seeing children without pants peeing everywhere。 The free-air style has the girl going into the garden and "water the plants"。 Yeah, I don't think the plants would appreciate that。 The little star style is good because they bring the little potty outside and she can learn about the night sky。I think the doctor's heart is in the right place。 He wants potty training to be easy for both parents and kids。 He might need to dial it back a bit。 It does happen even when you don't use "styles"。 。。。more

A tiny bit of advice on how to toilet train, but otherwise slightly amusing illustrations of imaginative but impractical pee positions for girls。 Still unsure whether this picture book is for parents or children, or some weird hybrid。 Meh。

how to pee: potty training for girls is was written in 2014 and is a realistic fiction book。 this book is good in the classroom during the kindergarten level。 this is a very good to do book for those who are learning to potty in an exciting and un-fearful way。

This book is really fun and engaging。 My two year old loves it! When I read it I add the words "How to pee。。。" before each new section, as in "How to pee dance party style!" There are a lot of terrible potty training books out there, so this book is especially appreciated in our home。 This book is really fun and engaging。 My two year old loves it! This book is HILARIOUS and the illustrations were even better! I believe that, if nothing else, families with little girls who are potty training will get a kick out of this book; a permanent smile on their face while reading it。 As each child is different, there is no guarantee that this method will work for everyone, but even if it doesn't, it provides a great laugh and new way of looking at things。 I also appreciated how there was "A Note to Parents" and "A Few Basic Rules" in the back of the This book is HILARIOUS and the illustrations were even better! The boy version of this I can take, and I think it has true little boy appeal。 The same little boys who learn to pee "cowboy" style or such will be howling at fart jokes and The Adventures of Captain Underpants in a few years。 But dear Dr Spector, not ALL little girls are into glow sticks and fairies and princess crowns, and I guarantee you that this book would have worked on neither of my lovely little offspring, who were into little of the girly stuff offered here。 They are now both, BTW, love The boy version of this I can take, and I think it has true little boy appeal。 The same little boys who learn to pee "cowboy" style or such will be howling at fart jokes and The Adventures of Captain Underpants in a few years。 But dear Dr Spector, not ALL little girls are into glow sticks and fairies and princess crowns, and I guarantee you that this book would have worked on neither of my lovely little offspring, who were into little of the girly stuff offered here。 They are now both, BTW, lovely young women whose lives somehow were not blighted by not learning to use the toilet until they were past 3。 I had help from their preschool teacher, they each trained in about a week, and when they were trained they were TRAINED。 No accidents, ever! This is amusing and will appeal to desperate parents。 But I think most girls are too smart to fall for this sort of silliness。 。。。more

Although I applaud the author and his wife for trying to take away the anxiety from children learning to use a potty and I'm glad there was a version of the book for girls, I didn't particularly see how all the drama and imaginative play would help the girls learn how to do so。 In the same way he does in the earlier How to Pee: Potty Training for Boys, the author offers several scenarios for girls to use as they use the bathroom, including sitting on the throne like a princess or watering the pl Although I applaud the author and his wife for trying to take away the anxiety from children learning to use a potty and I'm glad there was a version of the book for girls, I didn't particularly see how all the drama and imaginative play would help the girls learn how to do so。 In the same way he does in the earlier How to Pee: Potty Training for Boys, the author offers several scenarios for girls to use as they use the bathroom, including sitting on the throne like a princess or watering the plants。 Even the witchy style involves flushing to make the urine disappear more than how to sit on the toilet。 I don't have children of my own so it's possible that ideas like these and the gymnast and ballerina styles might have great appeal for children, but I'm also thinking that many youngsters might be better off just left alone and shown by example what to do。 The bright colors in the illustrations certainly add to the book's appeal。 Who knew that going to the bathroom could be such an adventure? 。。。more

This book is a poser potty-training manual。 In most of the illustrations, you wouldn't even notice that the little girl is on a potty or that the book is even about going to the potty。 Potty training in style? Hmm。 Most kids aren't looking for fabulous new ways to go potty, they just need to get down to business (pun intended)。 I much prefer the straight forward style of Once Upon a Potty or other let's-get-down-to-basics potty training books。 This book is a poser potty-training manual。 In most of the illustrations, you wouldn't even notice that the little girl is on a potty or that the book is even about going to the potty。 Potty training in style?
